Struisbaai Sanitation Scheme

AfriCoast was appointed by Cape Agulhas Municipality to design and oversee the implementation of a waterborne sanitation system to serve the towns of Struisbaai and L’Agulhas based on the recommendations of the Sanitation Master Plan previously prepared by AfriCoast.

The project included:

• Bulk collector sewers
• Sewer reticulations
• Upgrade of the existing sewer reticulation serving Struisbaai North
• Main and minor pump stations and rising mains
• New modular activated sludge plant
• Treated effluent disposal in sand dunes north of the town

AfriCoast undertook all project planning and phasing, design and specification, documentation, construction administration and management, construction monitoring, commissioning and project close-out.
