On the 27th of January 2026, Africoast Investments, under Crossroads Green Energy Project, made a move to bridge industrial development and social responsibility.
The project, which operates within the Renosterberg Municipality, recently directed its focus toward local youth, completing a widespread distribution of dignity packs to hundreds of learners across three primary and high schools.
The CGE Project Liaison Committee dedicated R75,000 towards ensuring that no student would miss a day of school due to a lack of basic personal care items. Representatives from the CGE partnership visited Keurtjieskloof Primary, Petrusville High, and Philipstown High to hand over the supplies.
The high school distribution saw 304 learners receive comprehensive packs containing sanitary towels, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, face cloths, and body lotion, with Keurtjieskloof Primary receiving a specialized allocation, including 20 dignity packs for older students and a significant bulk supply of hand wash, tissues, and paper towels to support the hygiene needs of the younger grades.
A spokesperson for the project emphasized that the distribution was handled with a strict focus on ethical standards and learner confidentiality, ensuring the privacy of every recipient was maintained.
“This is about more than just providing supplies” said a representative involved in the rollout. “It is about ensuring that the dignity of our learners is preserved so they can focus on their education without the burden of unmet basic needs.”
As Africoast Investments continues to expand its footprint in the South African renewable energy sector, this initiative serves as a tangible reminder of the company’s commitment to social upliftment.
By integrating community welfare directly into the operational heart of the Crossroads Green Energy project, the committee continues to demonstrate how the transition to sustainable power can generate immediate, life-changing benefits for the communities hosting the infrastructure.
